La 90e cérémonie des Oscars au cinéma privé du Royal Monceau

Dimanche, aura lieu la 90e cérémonie des Oscars à Los Angeles. Et pour les cinéphiles, pas question de rater la soirée ! A cette occasion, le Royal Monceau vous ouvre les portes de son cinéma privé pour une soirée placée sous le signe du septième art. Ainsi, cette nuit des Oscars débutera par la projection du film de Steven Spielberg, « Le Pont des espions » avec l’oscarisé Tom Hanks. A minuit, coup d’envoi des festivités avec la retransmission en direct et tout au long de la nuit de la grande cérémonie américaine.
Pour régaler ses convives, le Royal Monceau a pensé à tout : pop-corn Pierre Hermé, friandises et sodas !

The 90th Oscars ceremony at the private cinema of Royal Monceau

On Sunday, will be held the 90th Academy Awards in Los Angeles. And for moviegoers, no question of missing the evening! On this occasion, the Royal Monceau opens the doors of its private cinema for an evening under the sign of the seventh art. Thus, this night of the Oscars will begin with the screening of Steven Spielberg’s film, « The Bridge of Spies » with the Oscar winner Tom Hanks. At midnight, kick off the festivities with the live broadcast and throughout the night of the great American ceremony.
To treat its guests, the Royal Monceau has thought of everything: popcorn Pierre Hermé, sweets and sodas!

Vente éphémère de plantes

A la fin du mois, c’est le printemps ! Alors, pour s’y préparer, on file faire un tour à la vente municipale de plantes qui aura ce samedi au Jardin du Ranelagh. Comme toujours, c’est le Centre de production horticole de la ville de Paris qui propose à prix réduits son surplus. Ainsi, vous pourrez mettre la main sur plus de 2000 végétaux dont des arbustes en pot et des godets de vivaces. Les prix iront de 1 à 10 euros, et sur place, vous pourrez échanger avec des horticulteurs qui seront ravis de répondre à vos questions et de vous délivrer conseils et astuces pour bien cultiver vos plantes vertes.

Ephemeral sale of plants

At the end of the month, it’s spring! So, to get ready, we go for a walk at the municipal plant sale that will take place this Saturday at the Ranelagh Garden. As always, it’s the horticultural production center of the city of Paris that offers discounted its surplus. So you can get your hands on more than 2000 plants including potted shrubs and perennial buckets. The prices will go from 1 to 10 euros, and on the spot, you will be able to exchange with horticulturists who will be delighted to answer your questions and to give you tips and tricks to cultivate your green plants.

« Memo » l’exposition hip-hop gratuite

Au top, cette expo hip-hop. Près de Ménilmontant (XXe), « Memo » plonge au cœur de la culture hip-hop, depuis ses débuts jusqu’à nos jours, en France et dans le monde. Des installations plastiques et sonores, des fresques, des photos… Et si vous plongiez tout entier dans la culture hip-hop et surtout dans son histoire ? C’est ce que vous propose pendant un mois encore « Memo ». Cette expo riche et inédite est organisée par le centre culturel dédié La Place, aux Halles (Ier), et la mairie du XXe arrondissement.

At the top, this hip-hop expo. Les déjeuners participatifs chez les Fils à Maman Abbesses

Le Vendredi, ça n’a pas de prix ! Un adage qui colle au sens littéral du terme pour le restaurant qui organise tous les vendredis, pour le déjeuner, un menu à la carte sans prix. Vous arrivez, vous commandez votre repas, vous déjeunez et vous donnez ce que vous voulez (en euros bien sûr) en contrepartie.
Le menu est à l’ardoise et n’indique aucun prix : plat « comme à la maison » et un dessert, prix à discrétion. C’est aussi simple que ça ! Côté recettes, ce sont celles des mamans qui régalent : bœuf bourguignon, gratin de coquillettes, blanquette de veau… tous les vendredis, une spécialité d’une maman est à la carte, pour varier les plaisirs.L’objectif de cette expérience : faire plaisir aux plus gourmands et ne pas gaspiller les produits. Un plat unique est servi à ceux qui choisissent cette formule, et quand il ne reste plus rien, le service s’arrête, donc pas de restes !

Participatory lunches at the Sons of Mother Abbesses

Friday is priceless! A saying that sticks to the literal meaning of the term for the restaurant that organizes every Friday for lunch, an a la carte menu without price. You arrive, you order your meal, you have lunch and you give what you want (in euros of course) in return.
The menu is slate and doesn’t indicate any price: dish « as at home » and a dessert, price at discretion. It’s that simple ! On the recipes side, it’s the moms who feast on: beef bourguignon, gratin de coquillettes, veal blanquette … every Friday, a specialty of a mother is à la carte, to vary the pleasures.The objective of this experiment: to make pleasure to the greediest and not to waste the products. A unique dish is served to those who choose this formula, and when there is nothing left, the service stops, so no leftovers!

The LET’SDANCE® Festival

You’re the kind to ignite the dancefloor every Saturday night? Or to shyly sketch a few steps secretly in your bathroom? Whatever your level, close your eyes, feel the rhythm invade and let your body speak.
Saturday and Sunday, as more than 12 000 people, participate in the festival Let’s dance, under the great hall of La Villette. On the program: lessons, demonstrations and shows.
To participate in the classes, go to one of the seven studios just after the beginning of the previous class. This year, no complex: dancers of a professional level have a reserved area. Just like children under 12!
