La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc est la course internationale de chiens de traîneaux la plus difficile au monde.

The Great Odyssey Savoie Mont Blanc is the most difficult international dog sled race in the world.

Elle réunit, chaque année, 14 des meilleurs mushers au monde. A travers la Savoie et la Haute-Savoie, ces athlètes du grand froid parcourent 1000 km – sur 9 étapes – et grimpent plus de 30 000 mètres de dénivelés, grâce à 300 chiens d’exception (alaskan et siberian huskys).

It meets, each year, 14 of the best mushers in the world. Through the Savoy and Haute-Savoie, these athletes of cold weather travel 1000 km – on 9 stages – and climb more than 30 000 meters of altitude, thanks to 300 exceptional dogs (alaskan and siberian huskys).

La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc, c’est aussi l’occasion d’assister à des animations dans une ambiance polaire magique, au sein des 22 stations et villages participant à la fête :

– Initiation à la conduite de chiens de traîneaux,

– Construction d’igloos,

– Ateliers des trappeurs,

– Tartiflettes géantes,

– Feux de camp,

– Projections de films,

– Expositions thématiques…

A pied, en raquettes ou à ski, les spectateurs peuvent aussi assister, de jour comme de nuit, au passage des attelages. Le public a également la possibilité de suivre l’évolution des mushers : sur des écrans, positionnés dans les stations, ou en temps réel sur le site web officiel de l’épreuve.

The Great Odyssey Savoie Mont Blanc is also an opportunity to attend activities in a magical polar atmosphere, in the 22 resorts and villages participating at the celebration:

– Initiation to the driving of sled dogs,

– Igloos construction,

– trapper workshops,

– giant Tartiflettes,

– Campfire,

– Screenings of films,

– Thematic exhibitions …

On foot, on snowshoes or on skis, spectators can also watch, day and night, the passage of the teams. The public also has the opportunity to follow the evolution of the mushers: on screens, positioned in the stations, or in real time on the official website of the event.
